Lisa's gorgeous mini!

Good morning!

I have another gorgeous mini album to share with you today!
This one was created by Lisa N. using the Scraps Of Elegance
'By The Sea' kit

She was inspired to create a Tri Fold Mini Album following a tutorial for the base on YouTube by Papercrafter 45. She used the French Riviera Collection found in the Coordinating Paper Add On here to create the base for her album.

The Seaside Lilies Flowers by Blue Fern Studios are in the Main Kit and she used them along with the French Riviera Flowers found in the Floral Add to embellish the front of my album. She tucked in French Riviera Chipboard and some Dusty Attic Chippies. Our beautiful color add on included Art Alchemy Deep Waters Metallic Paint and she used it along with Stampendous embossing powders in gold to treat her chipboard. You can find the art alchemy paint here and the embossing powder here.

This is a side view tied with some beautiful dark blue seam binding with a jewel dangle.

This is what the mini album looks like opened up.  She created lots of tags with both the Seaside Cottage and French Riviera collections.

She used some fussy cut pieces from the French Riviera collection and added a little wooden embellishment that she had on hand. She also did a little stenciling in the background and added splatters.

A little close up of the fussy cut pieces.

A little close up of the ribbon closure and dangle.

This is the back of the album. She loves the print of this French Riviera papers contrasted with the stenciling and splatters.

You can see the depth of this album with the ribbon tied.

She used a Spellbinders Die for the base then layered my papers and florals over it. Love that lily flower from Blue Fern! You can see her little starfish embossed.

Weekend inspiration from Denisa!

Good morning!

I do not create mini albums very often, but I love them....I think they are a wonderful way to preserve your photos!
Denisa does not create mini's very often either BUT the one she just created using the
Scraps of Darkness 'On Oceans Tale' kit is AMAZING!

Its size is 12cm x 13cm x 6cm. The cover is made of print patterned cloth. Inside there are eight pages, each of them including a 5cm x 5cm pic of her lovely daughters

She started off with a coat of white gesso. Then applied metallic modelling paste over a stencil. She used coffee, turquoise, white and gold sprays to achieve  the ocean feel.

She kept the inside pages simple because the papers ´ patterns are busy. A bit of clean and simple look inside and a mixed media madness on the outside.

Kathy's first 'Safari' layout

Good morning!

Kathy has created a fun and wild layout using our newest
Scraps Of Darkness kit 'Safari

She started with 2 different Graphic 45 papers and ripped the bright green on the top and bottom and created layers simulating the slopes of the hill.  Before gluing the top layer down she glued down black thread to give the layout some texture.

She began assembling the photo mats and various layers using both paper collections.  She started with a elephant image from the Safari collection and matted it with frayed burlap then cut a small piece from the left side of the image and glued it to the far left side of the photo mat.

The black photo mat was created by using an image from one of the Kaisercraft papers and gluing it to the bottom of another Kaisercraft "Into the Wild" paper.  Both are included in the Coordinating Paper Add-On
In the center of the layout she created little layers of G45 chipboards and die cuts.  The chipboard is included in the Elements Add-On and the die cuts comes with the Main Kit.  She also sprinkled little flowers and created little clusters around the layout using the flowers are in the Floral Add-on

The little zebra strips were cut from the top and bottom of the "I'm Wild About You" phrase.  Above the strip on the right top side she used one of the little circle tags included with the Main Kit that stamped and inked around the edges,  then applied one of the circle die cuts from Graphic 45 which comes in the Main Kit.

More amazing creations.....not just layouts.....

Good morning!

1.capable of or adapted for turning easily from one to another of various tasks, fields of endeavor, etc.:

2. having or capable of many uses:
The Scraps of Darkness & Elegance kits have got to be versatile to create beautiful layouts and stunning projects like these....
Lisa Novogrodski created this amazing mixed media canvas using our JulyScraps of Elegance Sunshine & Sweet Tea kit
She covered the canvas in gesso, then applied Tim Holtz Tissue paper, torn and modge-podged randomly, throughout the background. She then unwound string and placed it all over the background, covering it in gesso, then a layer of Opal Magic Pink-Blue Art Alchemy paint, found in the main kit this month. She went over different areas with Gelatos in Raspberry and Metallic Blueberry. We have a wide variety of Gelatos in our shop you can find the colors she used HERE.
She used Primas Art Extravagance White Crackle paste on the edges before applying the gelatos and paint.
She used Heartfelt Creations' Daisy Patch Flower Stamps (from a previous kit).  She stamped them on papers in the Main Kit and then added color with Gelatos. She also colored some of the Minnie Pearl Prills with Lindys Mist in California Poppy Gold. You can find the Prills she used HERE.
She was inspired by her friend Lisa Gregory to emboss her Prima Forest Leaves dies with Lindy's Stamp Gang embossing powders. She used Midnight Gold, Cosmic Blue Violet, Hyacinth Blue Jade, Merry Go Round Green and Desert Moon Turqoise. She basically just pressed each leaf onto an embossing pad then sprinkled different colors on them to mix them together.
The center jar is a Blue Fern Studios Floral Jars Chipboard found in the July Elements Add On. She embossed this as well, with her favorite Stampendous Encrusted Jewels in Purple. If you have not tried these embossing powders she highly recommends them. You can find them HERE. She also used some glass beads and Prills to fill up the jar.

The bird is from the BoBunny Butterfly Kisses Printed Chipboard found in the Main Kit. She covered it in Prills and Watermelon Glitter from Blue Fern Studios Imagine Ink. This glitter was found in our Elements Add On as well. Everything was edged in Tea Dye Distress Ink that was included in the Color Add On.

Denisa used our July Scraps of Darkness An Ocean Tale kit, and designed this extremely cool project....
She decided to step away from a classic layout size....she kept the height as usual, but limited the width a bit to 6 inches or 15cm only.  A brand new look.

She cut the oval pic into halves. From the main kit she used the Swirl Flourish Stencil, Art C Heavy Body Acrylic Metallic Paint Tube, Prima flowers and Voyage Beneath The Sea Collection paper from Graphic45.
She also used Graphic45 Chipboard, Finnabair´s Rusty Gears Mechanicals, Blue Fern Studios Laser Cut Chipboard Seaside Seashells and Always and Forever Self Adhesive Pearls from Elements Add-On.

Mixed Media Monday - 8/15/16

Good morning and welcome to another
Mixed Media Monday post!

I love the color purple - whether it be as an accent or the main color...

Wilma made this stunning blue and purple layout using our July Scraps Of Darkness 'An Ocean Tale' kit.

 I LOVE this color combo!

The flourishes are made with the stencil from the kit and stuff to fill  holes in the wall (spackle).

She used the pretty Prima flowers from the main kit, and also made a few herself with the same stamp that she used in the background.

She cut some leaf shapes from one of the beautiful kaisercaft papers.  On her paintings she loves to use wax that drops down from her candles because it always has funny shapes and gives great texture.
She took two small pieces from the wax to add it on this layout.

The next layout I will share came from Lisa Griffith, using our July Scraps Of Elegance 'Sunshine & Sweet Tea' kit.
I love how she treated the photo and added a hint of purple to it to match the tone of the layout!

She started with the Blue Fern Studios paper 'West Plaza' as her base and then added some pieces that she fussy-cut from the BoBunny paper 'Butterfly Kisses'.
Here is a list of everything she used from the main kit and add ons:
Blue Fern Studios 'West Plaza' (Coordinating Paper Add On)
BoBunny Paper 'Butterfly Kisses' (Main Kit)
BoBunny Paper 'Sunlit' (Coordinating Paper)
Prima Florica Gypsy Cord (Main Kit)
American Crafts 'Knock Out' Gypsy Punch (Main Kit)
Dovecraft 'Serendipity' Wood Frames (Main Kit)
Dovecraft Paper Doilies (Elements Add On)
BoBunny 'Butterfly Kisses' Buttons (Elements Add On)
Prima 'Amour de Ma Vie' Flowers (Floral Add On)

Here are her wonderful details:
