Kathy and Botanique and fussy cutting

Good morning!
One of the fabulous things (and there are many) about the Graphic 45 Nature Sketchbook papers in our Scraps of Darkness 'Botanique' kit is the images that you can fussy cut!

The background paper is from Simple Stories and is included in the Coordinating Paper Add On.  Kathy ripped along the edges and slid some Graphic 45 papers underneath, then added some micro beads to simulate spores that you find on ferns.  She distressed all around the edges.

She fussy cut around the main feature paper for the collection that comes in the Main Kit, and centered it in the middle of the page.

She used some clock chipboard pieces from her stash.  She used clear gesso to prime the pieces, then used the Blue Fern Studios embossing power "Chili Powder" that comes in the Color Add On.  She added a little black ink around it to give it a distressed look.

Behind the smaller clock is a tag that comes in the Graphic 45 diecuts sheet included in the Main Kit.  She did some journaling using sticker acetate on her computer.

She created a mat for the photo using another Graphic 45 paper that she distressed and inked it in black.  She fussy cut some clocks to tuck in around the photo.  In the center of two of them she used the Ken Oliver metal cogs that are in the Main Kit.  She also used a Graphic 45 chipboard tag that is included in the Elements Add On at the bottom of the photo.

Next, she die cut some ferns from heavy duty white cardstock then used the Kaisercraft Mist in olive that is included in the Color Add On.  She used a paint brush and lightly applied the paint.  After adhering them to the layout, she added lots of micro beads to look like spores from the plant, then she tucked in some sweet red flowers that came from a previous kit

Kathy's first "Botanique" layout

Good morning!
Each month I host a challenge over at the Scraps of Darkness/Elegance community on Facebook.  This month, I created a sketch... and Kathy created this stunning layout using both the sketch and our January Scraps Of Darkness 'Botanique' kit:

She created the background with 3 of the Graphic 45 Nature Sketch papers included in the Main Kit.

She cut two large orange and green Graphic 45 papers (Main Kit) and layered them in the center of the layout.  She arranged the photos and then placed a chipboard tag that comes in the Elements Add On in the center.

The sentiment card on the right center of the page was cut from another Graphic 45 paper.  She used a little tag chipboard at the bottom of the sentiment tag to mount the large beautiful butterfly.  She fussy cut 4 different butterflies from one of the papers included in the Main Kit and used them around the layout.

She created little flower clusters around the layout using those sweet yellow Petaloo burlap sunflowers from the Main Kit and flowers from previous kits.  There is a sweet metal butterfly in the top right cluster that is included in the Creativity Add On.  At the bottom left she used another chipboard tag from the Elements Add On and added the year the picture was taken.

here is the sketch Kathy used

A touch of gold from Nicole and SOE!

Good morning!
Christmas sometimes shimmers and shines and is sometimes a bit more rustic!
Nicole combines both in this stunning layout using the Scraps Of Elegance 'Christmas Cheer' kit

The image inspired her to use lots of metallic and sparkly colours on her chipboard to go along with the pretty gold and copper flowers available through the Scraps of Elegance Floral Add-On kit.

Laura's pink Christmas

Good morning!
The pink Bo Bunny papers in the Scraps Of Darkness 'Snow Angels' kit was perfect for this wonderful photo of my oldest granddaughter!

I began by  layering and distressing my papers.

I made a cluster of flowers using the flowers from the main kit and floral add on as well as some from previous kits!
The poinsettias started as gold but they did not match my layout so I covered them with white gesso and then misted them with Lindys mists from a previous kit.  I also wanted to add some sparkle and shine so I added some very fine glitter from my stash and the wonderful pink gems from the kit.

I cut the title from one of the Bo Bunny papers and added a few gems
