Mixed Media Monday

Good Monday Morning!
I am so happy to share a couple of stunning mixed media projects with you today.

First is this amazing layout from Kathy using the Scraps Of Darkness December kit

She started by ripping the top paper layer on both the top and bottom of the paper, did a lot of distressing a lot the edges, then added some modeling paste along the edges to look like snow.
She used modeling paste with a Prima star stencil, and when the paste was still wet, sprinkled glitter on the stars to make them twinkle.  She splattered some silver ink and watered down gesso to get the snow falling effect and rubbed on some gesso behind the photo, and  sprayed some Lindy’s “Afternoon Delight Denim” to add a little blue to the layout.

She used a couple of dry embossed die cut snowflake that she rubbed with Tim Holtz’s Distress Ink in “Gathered Twigs” and “Tea Dye” so that you could see the embossing on the snowflakes.

She made a stacked layer of different papers from the kit, an old book page and some colored cardboard (from her stash).  The bottom layer is a piece of burlap.  The sentiment sticker is from last year’s kit, along with the cute snowman.
She used a corrugated star from her stash that she covered lightly with modeling paste and then used a sweet little flower in the center which came from an older kit.

She created a circle of jute to surround the photo, and covered it with modeling paste as well.

The little snowman collage in the bottom right of the photo includes Petaloo flowers from the store and December Scraps of Elegance kit, with a little twine bow behind the snowman to give him texture.

Next up we have a stunning art journal page from Lisa Griffith using the Scraps Of Elegance November kit
'Tracey's Country Kitchen'

Lisa created these beautiful pages using fussy cut images, paints, elements and mists from the kit and add ons.

Thanks for stopping by!
