Weekend Inspiration from Monica!

Good morning!
Today we are sharing a fabulous layout from Monica using our September Scraps of Darkness 'Blush' kit!

She painted some chipboard from with Prima's Art Alchemy acrylic paint: Opal Magic Green Gold. You can find it in the store here. She put Prima Flowers on each side and added some gesso on the flowers.

Here she layered some Prima Ephemera on the top of the photo. She sprayed the flowers here with Gesso and also did various ink splatters on the paper.

This Fabscraps Bird Charm was in the kit.  She paired it with a little bloom. You can see more paint splatters around on the page.

Here she laid a few more Prima pieces... bits of splatter..

Here you can see the Prima stamps she used.. the bird is pictured here in pink.

Tutorial: Shabby Chic Tags with Prima Watercolor Confections

We've got a wonderful mixed media tutorial for you today.

Tanya created both of these beautiful shabby chic tags with all the Prima goodness that was in our Sept. Scraps of Darkness Blush kit:

She created the background with the Prima Watercolor Paper, Brushes, and Watercolor Confections paints that were in the Creativity Add On, and then used all the Rossibelle goodies from the main kit and Floral Add On to embellish them.  Here's Tanya's step-by-step video:

And a few more detail photos:

Thanks so much for stopping by, and if you haven't tried those Watercolor Confections yet - I'm telling you you are missing out!  I broke them out myself last week to make a birthday card for my mom, and the results were just beautiful!

LIsa and the Prima Vintage Emporium from the Blush kit!

Good morning!

Vintage:  Characterized by excellence, maturity, and enduring appeal; classic.

She was inspired by the Prima Vintage Emporium paper in the kit and decided to do a grungy vintage layout. The photo is one Tim Holtz found relatives. She photocopied the card and make a photo. This way she has the original to use again.

She painted some masking tape and used that torn up along the edges.

We received a gorgeous Antique Gold Embossing Powder by Blue Fern Studios in the Color Add On here. She
painted some chipboard with Art Anthology in a brown tone then embossed with the Blue Fern Powder. It gives it a wonderful textured antique effect.

She used some of the Prima Rossibelle chipboard found in the Elements Add On here and mixed it in.

She layered in a ton of flowers.
You can find the Floral Add On here.

Kathy's Leather and Lace with the Blush kit!

Good morning!
Kathy has created a gorgeous layout using our Sept. Scraps of Darkness Blush kit...

Starting with the background paper from the Prima Rossibelle collection, which is splotched and dotted with this incredible coppery foil finish. She cut a slit down the middle of the page and glued an old zipper with lace from her stash.  On top of the zipper she used this cool trim that came in a previous SOD kit.

Next, she used a piece of a chipboard frame from her stash, cut a piece out of it, and adhered "White Opal" Perfect Pearls.

She glued down a doily behind the chipboard frame in the center and matted her 2 photos.  She created various flower clusters and tucked in tons of diecuts and chipboard from the Main kit and Elements Add-On.  She used flowers from the Main kit and the Floral Add-On, as well.  On top of the flowers she added a little glitter, which came in an older kit and also sprinkled the glitter around on different elements of the layout.

She tucked in some buttons, as well as a little black feather - both came in previous kits.  At the bottom left side is a little black Kaisercraft chalkboard tag which has the Leather Honey written on it.  The little tag came in the Main Kit, along with Kaisercraft Lucky Dip chalk.

At the top right side she looped a piece of black lace and let it drape down the side of the photo and also tucked in some white leaves she created using a Prima die.

Mixed Media Monday - 09/26/16

Good morning!
In this months Scraps of darkness kit 'Blush,' there are so many awesome mixed media products!!!!  One in particular that I have not tried before is the Spectrum Noir Vintage Home Sparkle Markers Set from the elements add on!

Tatiana used the markers on this amazing layout....

She tried this product in the first time and liked it. This set includes brush markers with ink with deep colors and delicate shine. This shine is similar to the Silks acrylic glaze shine, but Silks is translucent and these inks are rather concentrated so you can receive a good coating. She also used a lot of different mixed media stuffs, a pebble from July kit, glitter from August kit and liquid pearls from February kit.
